Overcoming Starvation in 2017
SaltPeter Trust works to improve the lives of peasant farmers in Kachumbala and Soroti, NE Uganda. Climate change is affecting them quite seriously. Poor rains in 2015 and 16, followed by a serious drought in 2017 caused crop failure and starvation. Thanks to the generosity of our supports in Cardiff we were able to fund the purchase of 5-6 Tonnes of grain to help feed 300 families in our cooperatives, together with some of the poor in Soroti town. Many have told us we kept them alive.
