Education

SaltPeter Trust have been able to fund the education of around 20 children since 2006, thanks to the generosity of a UK based sponsorship programme. Ten of them have made it to or through tertiary education.

Michael graduated in Development Studies in 2015 and now works for the Charities SaltPeter Trust, EFOD and Zukuka Bora Coffee full time, and with Winnie now has land, livestock and crops and has started a family.

Tom has completed his accountancy studies, is married with a family and works for a Credit Union in Kumi.

James has worked as a Techer for a number of years, and completed further   studies in Administration at the University in Mbale.

Immaculate studied Accountancy, worked for SaltPeter Trust for some years before getting married in 2019 and is now raising a family..

John completed his University degree in fisheries, and is now working as a fisheries officer in Kapchorwa.
 

Jimmy completed a degree course in automotive engineering at University in Kampala and is now working for Bureau Veritas.

Okanya Charles completed A levels in 2018, and a degree in Education at Livingston University in Mbale in 2023 and now works as a teacher at a local primary school. He lost his mother & father as a young lad and his progress has been remarkable.

Emma completed a vocational building course and is currently following a diploma course in Architecture in Soroti.

The Treforgan WI in Morganstown funded a course for Sarah, our loyal nurse from Soroti, and returned  to Sororti Baptist Medical Centre in mid 2019 as a Comprehensive Nurse.

Angella, another loyal nurse from Soroti Baptist Medical Centre completed a  course on Medical Recordkeeping.

Charlie left school in his teens in 2004 when captured by the LRA. He escaped, and has been working as a helper at Soroti Baptist Medical Centre. He returned to school in 2018 to take his O  and A Levels, and is now at University working towards a degree in Business Administration.

Several others have progressed to S4 at school before leaving to follow vocational courses.
